Head Kahuna Korner ------------------ Mike Hall Laure Pomianowski (of Alewife fame) has had her baby! It's a boy and he was born on the afternoon of December 17th, 1996. His name is Kyle William Murray, and everyone involved is healthy and happy. I wasn't able to talk to Laure directly because when I called the Alewife Laure was out brewing at the new brewpub in Santa Fe, The Blue Corn Cafe. Now that's devotion to brewing! The latest info I've heard (via the Dukes of Ale newsletter) is that the BJCP test that has been in the works for some time now may be scheduled in February or March. If you're interested in this, let me know. The other big news this month is that I've been elected to serve on the Board of Advisors of the American Homebrewers Association. There are 15 board members around the country. This board has been home to many big names in brewing (Michael Jackson, Fred Eckhardt, George Fix, Dave Miller) and I'm honored to have been selected. If you have any ideas about the direction that the AHA should take in the future, feel free to bend my ear.
