If you have any additional questions, please ask. Send updates to Michael Hall (hall@lanl.gov). Acknowledgments: I steal shamelessly from other sources to get the info for this file. Comments and Recommendations: In general, the state of beer/brewing in New Mexico is not great, but it is improving. If you're coming for a vacation and want to try the "renowned" New Mexican beerspots, you've been misled. However, if you happen to be in the area, or are living nearby, and want to enjoy the best of what there is, then you are in luck, because you now have the definitive (until challenged :-) list of beer-related info on New Mexico. I try to keep this FAQ as up to date as possible. The info that is closer to Los Alamos is of better quality than that from Albuquerque (help?). If you read something in here and think "Hey, that's not right", just tell me and I'll change it. Feel free to distribute this to whoever is interested. Personal recommendations (try them all if you have time): Best New Mexican brewed beer: Rio Bravo Brewery. Best place for a beer in Albuquerque: Rio Bravo, followed by Assets Grill. Best place for a beer in Santa Fe: Drive to Galisteo and go to the Santa Fe Brewery. Best place for a beer in Los Alamos: Toss-up (see listings for details). Best place for a beer in Taos: Eske's Brewpub. Best place for a beer beside a river: Embudo Station. Best homebrew supply shop: The Alewife in Santa Fe. Best publications: The Los Alamos Suds Times and The Dukes of Ale Newsletter Best package store in Albuquerque: Quarter's. Best package store close to Los Alamos: Kokoman's in Pojoaque. Best package store in Santa Fe: Kelly's. Best beer judge in New Mexico: Brad Kraus (brewer at Rio Bravo). Best FAQ on beer in New Mexico: Need you ask? :-) 1.
