February Ski-Mash ----------------- Sandy James Five adventurous AtomMashers gathered on the afternoon of the February meeting to ski at Pajarito (Brent Newman, John Stewart, Mike Hall, Scott Bardenhagen and yours truly). We learned who had style on skis and who didn't! After skiing we adjourned to Pizza Hut for dinner where Peter McLaughlan caught up with us. We had some important lessons on skis...Mike Hall demonstrated why the antenna pole position is not commonly taught in ski classes. Scott Bardenhagen demonstrated the fine art of pole launching from a chair lift and then skiing with one pole. Scott, next time could you drop it along a less bumpy slope? Some not-quite-famous quotes from the day: Brent: "Gee there's more bumps here than I thought there would be". I was bravely thinking "no @#$% Sherlock". Mike: "What, what, WHAT? NO LIME? The only reason I ordered it (Corona) was for the stinking LIME!". Anonymous: "I once made love on a golf course" Which of course generated the following questions and appropriate loud raucous behavior in the Pizza Hut: "I have to ask...what hole was it?" "How many strokes was par?" "How did you score?" "Where were your clubs?" "Did you get a hole-in-one?" We had a grand time and I suggest this become a February ritual.
