Notes From The Party Captain

As your new Party Captain (Program Chair) I wanted let you know about some of
the exciting Atom Masher activities we are having this year. First, we will
have an informal ski adventure at Pajarito Mountain the afternoon before the
February club meeting. Adult lift tickets are $29 for a full day and $22 for
a half day. Junior lift tickets are $20 for a full day and $16 for a half.
Lift tickets can be picked up at the lodge, and half day tickets go on sale
at 12:30. We will meet at the bottom of the triple (Aspen) chair at 12:45.

Second, I have reserved a spot at the Holy Ghost group campground in the
Pecos for the weekend of August 22nd. The club campout was a lot of fun
two years ago so mark your calendars.

Third, we have two AHA style club competitions scheduled, a Pale Ale
competition in April and a German beer competition in November. More info
on these competitions will be forthcoming. You can probably expect some
kind of mead meeting or competition as well.

Fourth, the Grainful Heads are sponsoring the Valentines Day Mashoccur
competition between the Atom Mashers, Grainful Heads, and Dukes of Ale on
Sunday, Feb. 16th. AHA style scoring will be conducted, but this is not
an AHA sanctioned event. Entries are due Feb. 7th and it would be great
if we had a lot of Atom Masher beers (sorry, no meads) in the competition.
You can pick up entry forms at Piper's or Alewife.

Finally, we are looking for individuals who are willing to present a short
talks/demos on some aspect of brewing at one of the club meetings. If you
have a certain area of expertise or an interesting brewing system or whatever
that you would like to share with the club you are encouraged to let me know.
Also, if you are willing to host a meeting that would be great too. We are
still looking for someone to host the April competition, so drop me a line
and we will put you on the schedule. Cheers.
