In July of 1994 a group of men and women came together for the purpose of
forming a home-brew beer making club. Zymurgists (one who uses a scientific
application of fermentation for making beer) can smell a good beer from miles
around so membership in the club began to grow rapidly in Central Kentucky. It
became evident that the club needed to elect officers, collect dues, and
schedule meetings for its' members. Brewers Of
Central Kentucky (B.O.C.K.) meet
each month to share ideas regarding brewing processes, recipes, and other
information pertinent to the making of excellent beer. It makes no
difference what level of zymurgist you are - a novice, (never made beer before
but like drinking good beer and have a desire to learn) or a Picaso of the
brewing world, you will be welcome to attend a regular monthly meeting and meet
others who are just like you. The age group of our members varies just like the
home-brew each one makes. If you are from twenty-one to over sixty you'll find
someone your age because here the love of beer and beer making is the common
thread which binds this group.
