The Greater Huntington Homebrewers Association is proud to host the 2008 Mountain Brewer Open Homebrew Contest. This years event will be held at St Clouds Commons, Huntington, WV on Saturday July 26th 2008. GHHA BREWFEST will follow the homebrew contest. Last year, the Homebrew contest drew 187 entries from 22 states. All entries will be judged according to the 2008 BJCP guidelines. Medallions will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place beers in each category. In addition a best of show trophy will be awarded to the top entry. Meads, ciders & braggots will compete in their own best-of-show judging.Entries will be accepted

Beers should be entered on-line using the Homebrew Competition Wizard MBO
Entry.
The Competition Wizard guides you through the entry process and assists
in entering the beer into the correct category. The
Competition Wizard will also generate bottle labels and provide a
tracking number for the beer. The label must be attached to
the bottles with a rubber band. These labels contain brewer
information and will be removed before the Judges see the
bottle. Entry
fees can be paid by check (made out to
Greater Huntington Homebrewers
Association/GHHA) or credit card payments through PAYPAL.
Ship entries
to GHHA, Trinity Episcopal Church, Judges and volunteers should also sign up using the Homebrew Competition Wizard MBO Judges/Stewards. Note this is a BJCP certified competition. BJCP judges and GHHA members will be given preferential assignments. This is a moderately large competion with 20 separate flights that will be judged. YOU will only be garuenteed a judging spot if you register to judge and you recieve confirmation from the judge coordinator that you have been assigned. GHHA Label contest will be back for its fourth year ($2/entry). Labels will be displayed at the GHHA BREWFEST with attendees voting for a people’s choice award. In addition, a special set of judges will award prizes to the top labels. For ease of viewing, labels can be blown up to maximum size of 5x7" (bottle size lables will also be accepted). Judging
will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday July 26th,
2008. All BJCP certified judges will receive free admission
to the GHHA BREWFEST.
Awards will be presented Saturday night. Depending on the
number of entries and qualified judges, judging of the Meads, Ciders
and
Braggots maybe moved to the first week of
