I purchased a Cajun Cooker type pan frying system from my local
Sam's club for $39 specifically to use for boiling my wort. The
stand's outer ring diameter was the same as the outside of my
converted keg. I could neither fit the keg inside the ring, nor
sit the edges over the outside of the ring. To remedy the
situation:
 |
I cut the ring in 3 locations midway between each of
the three ring supports. Next I seperated each ring support
from the stand. |
 |
Each section of the ring was then straightened
slightly in a vise. |
 |
I had the ring supports welded back on each 1
inch further out from the center than it was previously. Then I
had short sections of rebar welded in to join the ring back
together. |
 |
Small sections of rebar were then cut to fit the gaps in
the enlarged ring and were welded in place. The stand now
supports the weight of a full keg easily and
securely. |
