- October 8, Malted Barley Appreciation Society Meeting,
7:30 p.m. Mugs Ale House, 125 Bedford Avenue (North 10th St., three
blocks north of the Bedford Ave. L-train station). Matt Polacheck from Schmaltz
Brewing. In addition, we should have some excellent homebrews to taste, and
Mugs usual great selection of beers.

help us welcome the fine folks from Kingston’s Keegan Ales as they make
a pit stop at our little corner in Brooklyn. As usual, prices will be nices.
Come and meet some of the makers. Hey, some of the Hudson Valley Bourbon-makers

Octoberfest celebrations? Had your fill of German beer? Frustrated by your
unrequited for Jurgen Prochnow (aka the patron Saint of Beerfest)? Well, put
those worries aside, slip on down to the southside and drop in on South 4th
for some of the tastiest Belgium beer you've ever had! Starting at 7pm, and
running all night, the following draft beers will be $5 a glass: Allagash
Triple, Alvinne Extra, Caracole Saxo, De Glazen Toren Saison D'erpe Mere,
Ommegang Abbey, Petrus Oud Bruin, St. Bernardus Abt 12, Val-Dieu Triple.
Furthermore, just when you think things can't be more Belgy, we are happy
to offer free grilled bratwursts and sausages (while supplies last). So come
on by and help us put the UM in Belgium next week!

"The No-Joke October Fest". We have procured the most insane collection
of small German (more specifically Franconian) breweries almost all of which
have never been in the States before. These beers were brought over in incredibly
small quantities (just 1-4 cases for the whole country) and we got most of
them. The majority of these beers are in small 20 & 30 liter gravity pour
barrels. If you love German beer, do not miss this. You can't even find all
